The SEGA Saturn is experiencing a modern revival. Hardware modifications – especially the Optical Drive Emulator (ODE) – are in many ways driving this resurgence. These devices replace this beloved console’s aging and failure-prone CD-ROM drive, allowing gamers to load game images directly from solid state media.
By eliminating mechanical wear and reducing load times, ODEs preserve the console’s hardware and unlock its vast library of rare imports and fan translations.
