Hello World…

TL;DR

Game-Route is a space to share our passion for video games and gaming, with a focus on various physical aspects of the video gaming world.

Thanks for travelling down Game-Route 101 and stumbling onto this sleepy backwater town that is our little part of the Internet.  In this space we hope to celebrate all things video gaming, paying particular attention to the physical aspects of our shared passion.

Why us? Why now?

There are so many talented content creators out there that we love to read or watch.  Vibrant personalities who, whether by way of the written word, in video or through the products they sell, pass their excitement onto us in seemingly effortless fashion.  Running in-depth technical analyses on AAA console releases.  Educating us on all things Atari.  Keeping us up to date on the latest video game industry news.  Crafting arguments on why the Sega Saturn was a success in its own way.  Proudly walking us through their stores as others may their home.  A breadth of video gaming that is wider than the ocean, from friends that are knowledgeable beyond belief and contagious in their exuberance.  

For a long time, we thought there was nothing more we could add to the world of video games.  And that may be true.  Then again, just like an 18-year-old feeling the pull of old Route 66 calling out to them, it may not matter.  The mother road may have had countless souls sojourn down its track.  And video gaming may have had every facet explored by those with greater ability to do so.  But sometimes it’s simply about our own journey of getting there.

Game-Route is, and always will be, a work in progress.  We have ideas (so many ideas!) on thoughts we would like to share, topics we want to explore and how to go about doing it all.  We also have little doubt that this journey will probably look nothing like what we now expect.

And isn’t that the point?
